Fashion Week Trends
By Jillian Bietz
Although the snow-sprinkled tents in Bryant Park have collapsed, New York Fashion Week 2010 showcased the upcoming trends of the year. With a few consecutive favorites and some new, daring fashions, 2010 certainly won't be a year of boring style! Being fashion forward isn't just for celebrities. Many of these trends can be found in discount stores and on sale racks. You might even recreate these looks from thrift shop finds.
Slouchy Knits;
Who doesn't love the effortlessly comfortable cardigan? Worn over a dress or belted, knits are comfortable and stylish.
Hats:
While the slouchy beanies and fedoras of seasons past will still be seen, all types of hats are popular this season! Functional and fashionable!
Wide-Legged Pants
A total shift from the skinny! Baggy or bell-bottomed, large, loose pants are a comfortable and fresh new look.
Boots:
Thigh-high or ankle-length, boots will work with nearly any outfit. Especially popular with tights and skirts, boots are the "it" pair.
You don't need to incorporate every trend into your wardrobe, but pick a favorite and have some fun. A funky hat or a bold colored cardigan paired with your favorite jeans will update your look with minimal effort.

The boots and the hats are always there. They are here to stay no matter what the fashion trend may bring in to the community.
